Do You Want to Volunteer?
Volunteers are the foundation of our organization. And there are volunteer opportunities to fit everyone's comfort level and schedules. Whether you help out once a month during our book sales or want to become a member of the Friends' Board of Directors, we welcome and appreciate your support. So be a Friend and volunteer!
Ways to Lend a Hand!
Bookstore Volunteer
Do you enjoy interacting with other readers? Then being a Bookstore Volunteer is the spot for you. As a BV, you will be able to talk books with customers, make some book recommendations, and help the Book Sorters shelve and display books. Bookstore Volunteer hours range from 2-3 hours, 2-4 times a month.
Book Sale Volunteer
Do you have just a few hours once a month to volunteer? Are you a good organizer who can handle a little heavy lifting? Then becoming a Book Sale Volunteer might be just right for you! We need help on the Friday afternoon before the Saturday morning sale to unbox books and help with general set-up. We also need help on that Saturday. Surround yourself with hundreds of books and help raise money for the Danville Library at the same time!
Book
Sorter
Do you have a strong knowledge of books and a few extra hours once a week? Our Book Sorters are the gatekeepers for all donations, always on the front lines for patrons coming in with their much loved books. They sort through the various categories and select what's suitable for the store and the sale. A minimum of 4 hours on site per week.
